She advised me to connect it directly through it's own direct connect USB port. I was connecting it via a Multi-port USB connector. I then tried Seagate support direct and was asked how I was connecting it to my PC. I contacted Microsoft support and they also tried hard to find the problem, so far without success. I also reported this via the MS Community but cannot now find my entry, and cannot find another way to just advise other users.Īfter many hours of trial and error, there was no way I could utilize this drive. Many other problems materialized such as mouse not working, and even the PC screen went totally blank. Windows 10 Device Manager could see and name the device, but when doing 'create and format' the disk, the screen went blank. I bought a new 5TB Seagate external portable backup drive.
